Annual Awards Weekend

The Author Awards were created in 1992 to recognize those authors and publishers that have made significant contributions in the writing and publication of quality books for and about people of African descent. Each year individuals are selected based upon book reviews from each Go On Girl! Book Club chapter. They are then invited to receive their award in person at the annual Awards Ceremony.

Beginning in 1993, the one night event became a three-day weekend, where chapters meet and take care of business issues. It's also an opportunity for members to meet and have fun with their sisters from all over the country.
