The Go On Girl! Book Club Guide for Groups
April 1999 marked the publication of The Go On Girl! Book Club Guide for Reading Groups from Hyperion. Written by the organization's three founders, the guide takes a historic look at the Go On Girls, the book club tradition in the African-American community and the literary contributions (by genre) of writers of African descent.
The Go On Girl! Book Club Guide for Reading Groups also showcases 15 of the authors who have been honored by GOG over the years. Excerpts from these authors' latest works are accompanied by questions designed to jump start a book discussion. Provocative Q&A interviews with the authors, as well as an entire section on starting and sustaining a reading circle, are featured.
