The members of Go On Girl! Book Club will head to Houston, Texas for the 17th Annual Author Awards Celebration.

The weekend kicks off on Thursday, June 11th from 8:30pm to 10:30pm (Dallas Room) with a GOG Pajama Party featuring Carleen Brice, author of Orange Mint & Honey and Children of the Waters.

The awards luncheon on Saturday, June 13th from 4pm to 7pm (Harris, Hidalgo & Navarro Room) will honor the 2008 winning authors including  Authors of the Year Tananarive Due, Steven Barnes and Blair Underwood for Casanegra , Best New Author Ravi Howard for Like Trees Walking and Lifetime Achievement Award winner J. California Cooper. In addition, awards will be given for the winners of the Go On Girl! Book Club Unpublished Author and Scholarship awards.

Other attending authors include ReShonda Tate Billingsley, Pamela Samuels Young, Wallace Ford, Shelia Harvey Dansby, Eric Pete and Nina Foxx.

An author panel discussion will take place from 7pm to 10pm (Bexar & Travis Room) featuring J. California Cooper, Ravi Howard, Carleen Brice and ReShonda Tate Billingsley.  The panel will be moderated by Dianhann Brown of NY10.
